Apple plans to launch a pilot program to repair a number of the company's very old products, which could not be fixed, according to a 9-10 Mac report.

Although Apple reserves the right to refuse to repair a device if it does not have spare parts, the pilot program will eventually mean that older devices such as the iPhone 4S or MacBook Pro produced in mid 2012 will be eligible for repair by Apple and its authorized service providers.

Earlier this week, the company announced that the new MacBook Air and Mac Mini were made of 100% recycled aluminum.
