Barcelona striker Ivan Rakitic expressed his sadness at the departure of Real Madrid's Andres Iniesta after the end of Real Sociedad's final leg.
"The news from Iniesta's departure has affected us a lot, I do not have words to describe my feelings now," the Croatian newspaper reported.
"For me it was a pleasure to play with him. We have good communication both inside and outside the stadium. I have great love for his family and his children."
Rakitich had posted a picture on the Twitter social networking site, which he had gathered with Iniesta after replacing his shirt and commenting, "Thank you, brother, I'll miss you."
