Apple has decided to introduce "emoji" forms that reflect the lives of people with special needs.
These include a dog, wheelchair and artificial limbs.
The company said that few of the forms currently available reflect life experiences for people with special needs.
"At present, there are a lot of options available from Imogee, but they may not reflect life experiences for people with special needs. The proposed updates may help fill gaps," Apple said.
Apple has proposed 13 new forms: a dog shows a blind man, a woman and a man on a crutch, a woman and a man with a small ear, a man and a woman in a wheelchair, an industrial arm, an industrial man.
Apple said the proposed formats do not cover all life experiences for people with special needs, but the beginning.
