There were some who expected Apple to get rid of its MacBook Air lineup, but there are also some who think the lineup can last a little longer. In fact, there are rumors that it is possible for Apple to update the lineup of MacBook Air this year.
Now according to a new report recently released by Taiwan's Economic Daily News, it seems we have more details about the next generation MacBook Air. The report says that Apple can use Intel Kaby Lake processors to update the MacBook Air 2018. The report notes that Intel Kaby Lake processors are due to Intel's delay in producing the more advanced Intel Coffee Lake processors, which we have heard will be ready only late in the year 2019.
There is an alternative to the Kaby Lake processors, the Whiskey Lake processors, although these processors will only be released in the second half of this year, meaning there are likely to be not enough units by the time Apple launches the new MacBook Air 2018, But that does not mean that the Kaby Lake processors are bad.
The refurbished Kaby Lake processors include Intel Core i5 and Intel Core i7 quad-core processors, which can increase speeds to 3.4GHz and 4.2GHz, making them faster than the previous generation. Overall, there is currently no information about the launch date of the new MacBook Air, but it should be released later this year when Apple announces new releases of the iMac and the iPad Pro.
