The late Argentine Gonzalo Higuain, who was named Juventus coach, was named the reason for his preference for Milan's offer and his refusal to join Chelsea, which he wanted to sign this summer.
Juventus made a deal with the Rossoneri, during which Higuain moved to San Siro, as well as an exchange deal that resulted in the return of Leonardo Bonocci to the old lady and the transfer of Matia Caldera to Milan.
Chelsea have been closely associated with Higuain. Mauricio Sari, the new coach, wanted to work again with the Pepita, who had already been coaching him in Napoli, but the Argentine striker indicated that the Blues had not done enough to sign him.
"Sari's appreciation and his attachment to me is not new, but he was the only person who wanted me at Chelsea," Higuain told a news conference.
"In Milan everyone wanted me as a player for the team, that's the best thing for the player and the right incentive to play for a team."
"I know Bibi Reina well," he said of his new team. "I've played here for five years and I think Milan have a great team."
"Milan has everything the player wants to see, a stadium, history and football in the purest form. It makes you feel chills. Milan is something special."
"I played with the Beglia team for 10 years in the national team, and I highly appreciate it, and it's great to see him again," said Argentine international Lucas Belya.
Higuain also spoke about his departure from Juventus after Cristiano Ronaldo joined the Bianconeri. "I've already played for Ronaldo at Real Madrid, so I'm just happy with this new challenge," he said.
The Argentinian was finally asked who would score more goals in the 2018-19 season, or Inter Milan's Inter Milan striker Laird Higuain: "You know the answer already!"
