Everton have been drawn from the appointment of Portugal's Marco Silva as new technical director of the first team, and the official announcement could be made this week.

The BBC reported that Everton owner Farhad Mochiri had put Silva, the former Watford manager, as the top candidate for Everton after the dismissal of Sam Alardis at the end of the season after spending six months with the team.
The team's new manager, Marcel Brands, will take office on Friday and wants to appoint a new chief executive before the summer.
The proposed appointment to Silva, which is expected to be for three years, will end with Mouchiri starting last November when Everton wanted the Portuguese coach after a startling start with Watford.
The Watford team fiercely resisted and ordered Everton to step down and lodge a complaint about the Premier League approach with a claim for compensation.
Watford was sacked and Silva was sacked in January. In the statement announcing his departure, the club explained that the club felt Everton's move was the catalyst for the negative results.
