The founders of Facebook-based "Instagram" have submitted their resignation on Monday because of a dispute with the troubled parent company, press reports said.

"I'm very grateful to Mike for the past eight years in Entangram and the six years in Facebook," wrote Kevin Sistrom, chief executive of the company, in a statement. "We will take a holiday to stimulate exploration and innovation well," he said in remarks published by The New York Times.

Seström, 34, was co-designed by Ingrid in collaboration with Mike Krieger, 32, who was chief technical officer in 2010 when they were students at Stanford University in Silicon Valley.

Forbes magazine estimates Sistrom's wealth at $ 1.4 billion. "I have learned a lot from them over the last six years and it's a pleasure," said Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook on the resignation.

"I'm excited to see their new project." In June, Ingestrum announced it was surpassing a billion users, benefiting from its popularity among teenagers. A dedicated service was launched for videos. "Facebook" has bought "Ingram" in 2012, compared to one billion dollars. The app began monetizing based on ads and other promotional content.
