Boca Juniors have been in talks with Juventus keeper Gianluigi Buffon for the first time next season.
Argentina's Radio Continental reported on Monday that Boca Juniors striker Carlos Tevez had phoned Buffon to learn his point of view about playing in the Argentine squad before retiring from football.
The radio said the Argentine team is seeking to join Buffon before the start of the knockout phase of the Copa Libertadores starting on August 7.
Buffon, 40, has already announced his desire to retire at the end of the season after failing to qualify for next year's World Cup in Russia.
His dream of winning the UEFA Champions League after Juve's quarter-final defeat against Real Madrid has also faded.
Buffon has never had a professional experience outside of Italy after playing for Parma and Juventus, with many local titles.
